Once you have the structure of your blog when you have created the pages that compose it, you just have to ” sort ” that content a bit and add some details, which we will explain below.

How to customize the design with a WordPress theme

The so-called themes, or templates , are predesigned structures that WordPress makes available to you , and that you can insert in your blog.

We have already seen how to insert one when we have added a new page, but you can tweak the theme whenever you want , without creating a new page.

To do it from the interface , go to the ” Design ” section and click on ” Themes “.

This opens a window where you can see the entire catalog of themes that you have available. When you want to apply one, you just have to click on the theme.

A new window opens, like the one you see in the example below. Now, click on the ” Activate this design ” button.

To activate the theme click on “Activate this design”.

To apply a theme from the WP Admin interface , go to the ” Appearance ” section and select the ” Themes ” option .

Here you see the same catalog as before. When you hover over it, you can see two options that appear below the theme photo: ” Activate ” or ” Preview .

In the second section, you can modify the order of appearance of the pages in the menu of your blog. Just leave the cursor on the page, and drag it to the position you want it to take.

Important! You can also create a submenu (a page within a page), dragging that page to the right of a top one, as you see in the image below.

To create a new entry, click on “Add new page”.

Now click on the three dots on the right of each page and a menu will open with different options.

You must select the option ” Set as home page ” and it will automatically be set as such.

How to see the visits your blog has

One of the advantages of compared to, is that it has a statistics section without the need to install any plugin.

When your blog begins to have visits, this section will be very useful, because it has great graphics and summaries of the number of visits to your publications.
